Our Story
Eighty recipes. One grandmother. Twenty-five years of getting it right.
It Began in Amamma's Kitchen
Long before Sumadhura was a brand, it was a kitchen in coastal Andhra Pradesh — and a grandmother whose pickles the whole neighbourhood waited for. Amamma kept more than eighty recipes, each one tuned over decades by hand, by smell, by taste. No measuring cups. Just instinct, patience, and the same sun and salt her mother had used before her.
Those recipes are still the heart of everything we make. Amamma still tastes every batch.

Made the Way Ammamma Made It
Today every jar is still hand-stirred by our team in Guntur — the same families who have been making these pickles for over twenty-five years. No machines. No preservatives. Only sun, salt, and patience, exactly as Ammamma did it.
It takes longer this way. We think that is the point.
